On February 17 at 13.00-16.00 the street artist Von Bomb will conduct a stencil portrait workshop in Tartu Art Museum. The workshop will be in English.
Stencil is a widespread street art technique made famous by artists like Banksy, Shepard Fairey and Blek le Rat. Spray paint will be used to make stencils out of cardboard to get a portrait image.
You do not need to have street art experience to participate. The workshop is led by the street artist Von Bomb, who will guide you through the process and help you create a unique and original stencil portrait piece from a photo you provide. Portraits will be applied on a cardboard (size A2, ca 40×60 cm) that you can take with you after the workshop.
Programme:
– introduction to stencil art
– how to design a stencil image (artist will design a sample image on the spot and introduce the process)
– cutting out the stencils from cardboard
– spray painting portrait images on a cardboard
The tutor Von Bomb (Indrek Haas) is a well-known Estonian stencil artist, who has been active in the local street art scene from the year 2007. He is also the author of the largest street art piece in the Baltic states (mural “Ülemiste girl” in Tallinn, Ülemiste City, 1780 square meters).
Participation fee is 20€ per person, which includes all materials and tools needed.
