Info about collections
Tartu Art Museum’s collections hold over 25,000 works of art. These are mostly by Estonian artists and cover the period from the beginning of the 20th century to the present day.
The museum additionally also collects sketches, documents and photographs and has a library.
Altogether, the portal of the Estonian museum’s information system MuIS contains information about 37,989 in the Tartu Art Museum’s collections of which 26,971 are illustrated with a digital images.
Using the MuIS search below, you can explore the digital collections of all Estonian museums. To see only the objects in the collections of the Tartu Art Museum, select “Advanced search” and find Tartu Kunstimuuseum in the field “Museum”. You can search for artists, titles of artworks or their year of making.

Tartu Art Museum library is located at Rüütli 21 and is open to readers Wed–Fri 10–16. To visit the library, an appointment must be made beforehand by phone or by e-mail with the museum’s librarian.
